Great Memories in 2012

This year has been so amazing for me. I have been having great opportunities and making great memories in life. For saying goodbye & thanks to 2012, I want to look back at some of the great things that happened this year.

1. My Internship With KABC: I was so grateful for this internship because I got to learn and see how the professionals worked. Plus I got to interview some celebrities, and regular people for stories, and I got to shadow some amazing reporters. Glad I took this internship.

2. I Graduated College!!!!! Plus I got to meet Harvey Levin from TMZ :)

3. Went to the Extra Set: I had a chance to see Mario Lopez film a scene for Extra. I also got a chance to explore the Farmers Market at the Grove. Plus had a chance to taste my first Falafel and go inside a Zara store (can you believe I've never been inside a Zara store?)

4. Went to see a taping of Conan: and got to meet Dominic Monaghan (Lord of the Rings & Lost) and Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family).

With Dominic Monaghan
With Eric Stonestreet (Love him!)

5. Went to the Magic Castle in Hollywood

6. Got to do some reporting for my local cable TV: I also hosted a show for them, but I didn't take a pic.

7. I also made my own XLR & BNC cables

8. I got to meet Max Carver from Desperate Housewives: Unfortunately I don't have a picture to post (ok I do, its my wallpaper for my laptop :). But we both have flashes in our eyes so it looks weird to post).

It has been a great year, and hopefully 2013 is just as great or even better. I hope you guys have a great New Year and New Year's Eve. Have fun and stay safe! I wish you guys a great, happy, successful and prosperous New Year. May all of your wishes and resolutions come true. See you all in 2013.

<3,
Jessica

Birthday Outfit!

Birthday Outfit

Ok, so my birthday is not today. But it was last week and since I didn't do anything on my special day (it was gloomy and raining) I decided to build a birthday outfit that I would have probably worn if I had the pieces.

Of course, if money wasn't an issue, i'll buy everything in this pic.

But here is to a little bit of dreaming :)

How has your week been so far? And what would you wear if it was your birthday today? Or if its coming up, do you have a birthday outfit yet?

Fall Must-Haves

Fall Must-Haves

Even though here in Los Angeles is still not feeling like fall, I decided to start my Fall fashion shopping list - it's November after all. Right?

So these are some of the things I'm coveting and hoping to buy for fall.

1. Western Ankle Booties: I found these cute ones online at Charlotte Russe for $19.50. But I currently bought them at Forever 21 in the same color and with fringe on the side (exactly like these- except they are not online anymore).

2. Dark Red Skinnies: I am currently in oxblood mode. It has become one of my favorite colors for fall. So when I saw Lily Collins wearing oxblood jeans, I started on my journey to find the perfect pair of oxblood/ dark red jeans. These jeans are from Express for only $79.90

3. Flats: Flats shouldn't probably be in a fall wardrobe shopping list, but I currently need new black flats and I think these cute Steve Madden KStudd flats are perfect for $49.95.

4. Pullover Sweaters: I need to stay warm during these cool months, so I do it by wearing cute pullover sweaters to keep me warm under my jackets. These cute sweaters are from Old Navy and Gap.

5. Tweed Coat: I have been looking for a tweed coat for years and I finally found it at Express for $110.60 [reg. $158.00]. I bought it for 30% off, plus I got an extra discount which came out really cheap for me.

6. Aztec Print: Ladakh has this Border Blanket Wrap in Aqua Multi for $40 [pictured above under header]. I would so totally buy it if they had my size. But they don't, so this would be my aztec print inspiration for fall. I love the colors and print in this wrap and will totally be looking for something similar.

What are you guys looking forward to shopping for fall?

Just Be Your Smelly Old Self!

Shirley Manson Quote

I love this quote. Especially about the criticism. I want to dress nicer, but I'm afraid of what people would think.

People always have some remarks.

If you dress nice they think your superficial. If your dress crappy, they think your lazy and don't feel great about yourself.

What the heck? I guess you can never please everyone so you just have to be yourself.

And so I will take into consideration what makes me happy, and not take into consideration on how I can please everyone.

What did you take from this quote? What are you afraid of?

Live Your Purpose

I first found out about this video from Jess from the blog Makeunder My Life and I fell in love with it.

It has inspired me so much, and pushed me to really follow my dreams.

This video is on Mastin from The Daily Love. He is being interviewed my Marie Forleo who's website I adore and I always read her advice.

One of the things I freaking loved about this video was the conversation he had with his mom. It is so inspirational, so I'll let you guys hear it for yourself and see what you make of it (the time 13:08 -17:20).

If you have time today, definitely watch it, it is super inspirational. And let me know what you think of it.

"Everyone has oceans to fly if they have the heart. Is it reckless? Yes! But what do dreams know about boundaries?" -Amelia Earhart

"So what is holding you back? What is the dream that you want so bad?" -Marie Forleo.

I asked myself that same question, and it opened my eyes and mind to what I really want to do. And I definitely buried it because people told me I couldn't do it.

So if you would love to follow the conversation, you can check out Marie's original post here

Latest Purchase

My new purchases

I went recently on a little shopping spree. It was big for me, even though I didn't buy quite a lot of items. I needed to spruce up my wardrobe because I haven't been shopping in a very long time and clothes in my closet are from back when I was in college.

Since I graduated already, I thought why not buy me some new items? So the items above are my new purchases :)

I decided to buy a cute turquoise teardrop necklace that I have been admiring since I saw the J.crew turquoise necklaces (here & here). I also added this lovely sheer shirt from forever 21. Which was one of my recent goals to buy a chiffon shirt as mentioned in this post here.

The third item I bought was this lovely fun shirt/sweater from Express. This sweater is so versatile, as you can wear it off the shoulder as well and can be worn to a party, concert, or a club. My fourth item was this cute crochet Express top (for $17.99). I have been contemplating about this item since it came out. After it went on sale I thought about buying it super hard… then my decision was made after I saw Selena Gomez sport it. As well as a little nudge from my co-workers (thanks girls for giving me ideas on how to wear it). I also bought some gold sandals at Express for only $15, unfortunately they are all sold out online but check in stores they still have some.

And my last purchase of course were these lovely Aruba Blue Converse that I have been coveting after for a few months now. Overall I am proud of my latest finds, and proud of myself for not buying regular plain t-shirts and stepping outside the box.

What have you shopped for lately?
